Your social security office is moving. Effective May 1, the office will be located in the Rupley Building, 815 King street in Alexandria. *

1 he Alexandria office of the Social Security Administration was originally opened in June of 1940 in the Post Office building to give full-time service to northern Virginia residents in connection with tne issuance of social security cards, the filing of claims for old-age and survivors insurance, and the investigation of discrepancies in workers’ accounts. General assistance is also given to employers who have questions concerning the social security program.

Last summer the office moved to the Virginia Theatre building, 519 First street, Alexandria. Service to the public will be continued at this address until April 28.

For the convenience' of residents of Rappahannock county, a representative of tne Alexandria office,, of the Social Security .Administration is at the Employment Service Office, in Culpeper the second Tuesday, of each month at 10 a.m. If you have questions concerning social security, you may write to the Alexandria office or see the representative when he is in Culpeper.

Garden Club Plant Sale

Successful Last Saturday

The members of the Rappahannock Garden Club realized $26.00 from the plant sale, sponsored by the club Saturday, April 22, at the Courthouse lawn in Washington. The sale was attended by a good crowd and the weather was favorable. Pansies shrubs and many other varieties of plants were sold.
