To Bridge Club

•Mi's. T. C. Lea was hostess to the bridge club at her home on Thursday evening, April 20.

A high score prize and a consolation prize was awarded each of the three tables of bridge players. Those receiving the high score prizes were Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. B. M. Miller, and Mrs?. W. F. Moffett. The consolation prizes for each table were awarded to Mrs. R. L. Massie,’ Mrs. J. W. Price, and Mrs. D. D. Miller.

Others plaving were Mrs. D. C. Link, Mrs. H. C. Warwick, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh, Mrs. J. E. Keyser, and Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr.

PANTHERS DEFEAT S.H.S.

The Washington High Panthers defeated Sperryville baseball team in a score of 21-3 Wednesday afternoon, April 26, at Sperryville.

Washington Panthers will meet the Marshall High School team this afternoon, April 27, at Washington.

V.F.W. Auxiliary Meeting

The Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. will meet Monday, May 1, at 8 p.m. at the auxiliary room in Sperryville.

Stanley Brush Party

The Lou Keyser Missionary Circle of the Washington Baptist church will sponsor a Stanley Brush Party on Thursday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington fire house. The public is cordially invited to attend.

County News Notes

The Sue Slaughter W. M. U. group will meet May 6th, 2 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon church.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dodson and their two daughters of Elkton, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Ernest Dodson. Miss Betty Welch has returned to the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Ernest Dodson after having spent some time with relatives in Elkton.

Mrs. Shirley Glascock of Marshall, and Mrs. John Hey! and son, Ronnie of Warrenton, visited Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Racer Saturday.

Guests over the week end in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Biown, were Mrs. Lucile Hawkins of Washington, D. C.; Mr. and Mrs. John Creel and son, Gordon, of Culpeper; Mrs. Charlie Bayne and her daughter, Frances, of Brandy; and Miss Hazel Hawkins of Culpeper.

Mr. and Mrs. Ivan F. Vannoy of Alexandria, and Mrs. Elizabeth Thornhill and son, Ronnie of Warrenton, were week-end guests of Mi. and Mrs. W. B. Jenkins.

Guests on Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Wagner, were Mrs. Ida Conn of Georgia, Mrs. Fred Armentro-t of Waynesboro, and Mrs. M. H. Wagner of Port Republic.
