PMA Committeemen
To Attend Meeting
Four Rappahannock county farmers will join hundreds of Virginia farmers in Richmond this week for the annual two-day confesence of committeemen of the Production and Marketing Administration. The meeting will be held in the Richmond Hotel Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28.
In addition 'to himself,' Mr. H. S. Barksdale, PMA county chairman, said that others who will attend the conference are John A. Tapp, Amissville; T. M. Johnston, Washington; and Earl R. Yancey, who is chief clerk of the PMA county office.
Advance notice of the meeting, -reaching Mr. Barksdale last week, shows that the program will include a number of capable speakers in prominent agricultural positions in Virginia and the nation. Among these are Alvin G. McCormack, who is director of the Agricultural Conservaton Programs Branch, Washington, D.C.; Harold K. Hill, Assistant Administrator for Production, and O. V. Wells, chief of the Bureau of Agricultural Economics. Also on the program is Dr. Paul D. Sanders, noted economist. Master of the State Grange, and Editor of tfie^Sojifhern Planter, who is always a favorite with Virginia farmers. Several other speakers have not yet been named.
