The new dog law was read and discussed.
The old law was that anyone having sheep killed by a dog not his own could collect from the county the assessed value of the sheep or the fair market value of unassessed lambs or poultry, in addition he could collect from the owner of the dog the difference between the assessed Value and the fair value of sheep killed. ‘
After July 1, 1950, the law Is that anyone having sheep, live* stock, or poultry killed by a dog not his own may collect from the county the reasonable vajue of that livestock or poultry and the county has the right to proceed against the owner of the dog.

The John L. Wirtz farm, known as “Echo Hill’ a mile from Wash* ington, near Massies Corner, was sold last week to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gough of Nokesville.
The Wirt* family plan to give possession of the property Sep* tember 1, after having claimed ownership for the past three years. Mr. and Mrs. Wirtz, who Have three sons plan to make their home near the location of their sen at Longview, Washington.
Wilbur Wirtz, now attending summer school at VPI; will enter; Oregon State College at Corvallis, this fall.
