Rappahannock Garden

Club Met Wednesday . ,

Those attending the Rappahan* nock Garden Club meeting, held at the home of Mrs. \ George' H. Davis Jr. on Wednesday after* noon, wore arrangements of flow- ■ era and vegetables in their hair. Mrs. L. J. Kilby and Mrs. S.E. Henning tied for first place and Mrs. R. M. Menefee and Mrs. Z. H. Sealock tied for third place on their hat arrangements. Mrs. Menefee wore a unique arrangement consisting of a headpiece made of various kinds of vegetables which iwas held in place with a hat pin made of Japanese beetles.

Mrs. M. A. Joyce, Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. Almy of Front Royal Garden Club conducted the program on landscaping.

The chairmen of the various committees for the flower show to be held in September, wets appointed.

Mrs. J. G. Revercomb received the blue ribbon for her arrangement of white and maroon gladioli, Mrs. R. V. Snead's trumpet vine and lilies arranged in a miniature bird bath won the red ribbon, and the white ribbon was awarded to Mrs. R. M. Menefee for her arrangement of bronsecolored flowers in a copper kettle. In the specimen exhibits Mrs. Harry Gallihugh received the highest score, Mrs. J. G. Revercomb the second and Mrs. Joe Yorwell the third highest rating.
