‘Flower Show Committees
Met With Mrs. Turner
The chairmen of the various committees appointed last week to make the necessary arrangements for putting on a flower show to be sponsored by the Rappahannock Garden Club in September, met Tuesday afternoon at the home of the general chairman of the show, Mrs. L. J. Tur-i ner.
The chairmen of the various committees appointed to serve were Mrs. L. J. Kilby, schedule chairman; Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., staging; Mrs. Charles Estes, property; Mrs. J. G. Revercomb, entries; Mrs. S. E. Hening, classification; Mrs. J. M. Settle, judging awards; Mrs. W. G. Pendleton, publicity; Mrs. George Taylor, junior exhibits; Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., conservation; Mrs. Harry Gallihugh, tickets; and Mrs. Jfc>e Yowell, clean-up. All of the club members were appointed to serve on the hospitality committee.
The committee selected as their theme for the Flower Show, “Fun with Flowers.” The tentative dace set was September 15, and the place Sperryville school auditorium. Every member of the dub was assigned -to some committee and each chairman was requested to meet with their group and formulate plans of operation, reporting to the general chairman at a meeting on August 18.
Great enthusiasm and interest was the keynote; of the meeting and indications are that the first Flower Show will be u credit to the club.
