Governor’s Wife Honorary TB Xmas Seal Chairman
Mrs. Albertis S. Harrison, Jr., ! wife of the Governor, has accepted the Virginia Tuberculosis Association’s invitation to serve as the Virginia Honorary Christmas Seal Chairman for 1962, Dr. E. Cato Drash, president of the VTA announced today. Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy, the First Lady of the Land, will serve as the 1962 National Honorary Christmas Seal Chairman, Drash said.
“I can’t remember a Christmas without Christmas Seals” Virginia’s charming, dark-haired First Lady told the VTA. “Governor Harrison and I have always been concerned about the tuberculosis problem and have supported our local tuberculosis association in Brunswick County.”
Tuberculosis i s Virginia’s biggest communicable disease prohlem and the fight against it deserves the support of every citizen of our state and nation.
The 1962 Christmas Seal Campaign begins on November 13. The VTA will honor Mrs. Harrison at a reception at the Hotel Jefferson on the evening of October 10.
