Farm cooperative directors and managers from northern Virginia will get together October 10 for an all-day workshop at the Pelham House restaurant in Culepper, beginning at 9:30 a.m. It is one of a series of five workshops sponsored by the recently organized Virginia Council at Farmer Cooperatives.

A total of 40 cooperatives in the area have been invited to attend the session.

Newton E. Lohr, manager of the Orange-Madison Cooperative Farm Service, Madison, will serve as chairman of the meeting. Lohr stated the purposes of the workshop are to give cooperative managers and directors a chance to exchange ideas, to discuss mutual problems and to learn about the objectivee of the Virginia Council, t Scheduled to appear on the program are: L. E. Raper, director of membership relations for Southern States Cooperative, Richmond; Chester F. Bletch, director of producer relations for the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Association and president of the Council; Professor D. Upton Livermore, agricultural economist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute; J. B. Jones, vice-president and secretary of the Baltimore Bank for Cooperatives, Baltimore, and E. M. Holdaway, assistant legal counsel of Southern States Cooperative, Richmond.

Discussing the services rendered by service, marketing and purchasing cooperatives will be T. N. Broyles, manager of the Northern Piedmont Electric Cooperative, Culpeper; R. F. Hill, III, Orange; Leonard S. Lynch, manager of Cooperative Farm Credit Association, Warrenton; C. E. Johnson, Jr., director of Culpeper Cooperative Farm Bureau, Sperryville; Giles H. Miller, director, Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Association, Culpeper; John Watson, secretary of the Virginia Horticultural Society, Staunton, and J. W. Roller, manager of the Orange - Madison Cooperative Farm Service, Orange.
