Mrs. Smith Entertains
With Bridge Party
Mrs. Harry Lee Smith of Spring House Farm entertained the following guests at Bridge on Thursday evening: Mrs. Frank Spauling, Mrs. Galley Smith, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. Charles Bruce, Mrs. George W. Davis, Jr., Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. T. L. Eastham, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Mrs. J. R. DeBergh, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Jr., and Mrs. C. B. Palmer. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. DeBergh, Mrs. Eastham and Mrs..Moffett.
Horace Jackson
Horace Jackson of Amissville died Wednesday, September 19 in Fauquier Hospital. He was well known in this area for veterinary services.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Emily Brown of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Vergie Young, Washington, D.C., and Miss Sarah Jackson of Amissville; four sons, Horace Jackson, Jr., and Russell Jackson of Amissville, Robbie Jackson, Culpeper, and James Jackson of Richmond.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Pearl Perry, Bradock, Pa.; two brothers, James and Ray Jackson of Reading, Pa.; 45 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held from Bethel Baptist Church, Amissville on Sunday, September 23, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. L. B. Banks. Pallbearers were George W. Tolbert, Paul Brown, Boyd Brown, Buford | Edwards, Arthur Martin and Hugh Carter.
