Program Planned
p The swimming classes being scheduled this summer by the Agriculture Extension Division under the leadership of Mr. Lee Brumback, assistant county agent, will need about $40 to cover the cost of certain supplies for health and safety which are not covered by instruction charges. An appeal is being made for donations (no amount too small) to this fund. Send your contributions to Mrs. Helen Kilby, Sperryville or drop by the Agriculture Agent’s office at Washington where a jar will be provided. Details concerning registering children for these classes are explained elsewhere in this paper. Briefly, the classes will be for elementary school aged children and will be conducted by Mr. Paul Nichols and Mrs. Ann Hargett at the pool owned by Dr. Werner Krebser at Huntly.
Parents and other citizens of Rapp, have been enthusiastic! about various water safety programs in the past. Starting back about twenty years ago, the Red Cross sent instructors, Mr. Camp being one who held classes at Davis’ Lake Motel and at Old Hollow. He was followed by a young teacher from Culpeper after Old Hollow was dozed out and cleaned up with funds donated bv the Dublic and
