“Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast.” Or is it ‘a savage breast’? I don’t suppose it makes much difference, who or what is soothed, as long as the savage instinct is calmed. I think the writer of this quote was referring to MUSIC and not the high-powered twanging of electric guitars, and the screeching of near-savage singers.

Spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon listening to young pianists interpreting the works of the masters and of modem composers. One little fellow walks over to the piano, sits down and strikes a chord.
