EARLIER, during the public hearing, attorney Lea presented a plat showing how Jarrel Williams had acquired his 37 acres, fronting on three secondary roads in the “Tiger Valley.” Williams had acquired five separate lots by four deeds. His children wanted to reapportion those five lots into seven. The county ordinance allows a parent to give a twoacre lot to as many as five children. The way the Williams heirs proposed to divide their land, several of the lots would be larger than two acres, and perhaps this division of land was more in the spirit of the zoning ordinance than some which complied exactly, Lea said.
