Zoning Appeals Board member H.M. Forward wanted to know how Weil would prevent any of the 1500 “owners” of the recreation area from sub-letting to other camper trailer owners. “They have nothing to sublet,” Weil maintained, since they wouldn’t own individual lots. “But they have a privilege” to bring their trailers there, Forward said. \o
Weil said there are three camper trailer parking areas, totaling 11 acres, already “in existence.” So, he assured his listeners, “we don’t intend to go out tearing up the slopes.” Weil said the state of Virginia has strict standards regarding the site plan for camper trailer parks, and he’d have to abide by those. The state requires a parking space of 1600 square feet for each trailer, he said.
