Joyce Andrews said she was worried about pollution of the Rush River, since her children swim in it downstream from the ski area. Henry Eastwood noted there are only a few gas stations in Rappahannock within a short driving distance of the ski area. Would Weil provide extra gas or would there be shortages, affecting local people, he asked. Weil said the health department would protect the public with regards to sewage and as for a gas shortage, he couidn’t predict how the future property owners association would deal with that.

George Muth, a member of the zoring appeals board, said he was disappointed that Weil had not submitted more information detailing what the impact of the recreation development on Rappahannock County would be. “You haven’t given us very much as an applicant,” Muth said.

“It’s impossible to get” the kind of information Muth wanted, Weil said.
