Ed Harris told the Supervisors he had come to the meeting to present another matter, but after listening to the Williams case he wanted to speak on that. Harris said he was in sympathy with the ordinance which tried to protect the rural character of Rappahannock. “But this is a very human issue. I think it would be a gross misreading of the law to deny them this right. Can’t we do something to make an exception?”
Wit Kuncewicz said he, too, had come for another matter. “But the zoning ordinance was born in turmoil and sweat. It is to project the Williams as well as everyone else. I’d like to appeal to both parties to find a way to accomodate the Williams without destroying the zoning ordinance,” he said.
