Mike and Donna, have returned from Roanoke after a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Atkins and family. They were joined on the weekend by Ricky and Benjy Atkins and Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Williams to visit Lakeside Amusement Park at Salem and see the Hank Snow and Jerry Wallace shows. Sunday the Bennie Atkins family visited Mr. and Mrs. Silas Atkins in Markham and Donna remained to visit Karen Showers.
Mrs. Hazel Longmire attended a retirement dinner Monday evening in Winchester honoring Mrs. Morris, Director of Nurses and Mrs. Mabel Thompson, a nurse in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
The Chester Gap Homemakers had a work meeting in the fire hall Monday evening. Present were Mary Hickerson, Nora and Helen Sealock, Hazel and Doris Williams, Maybelle and Nellie Gilkey, Judy Grimsley, Lillian Fox, Ethel and Diane Williams, and 4-H’ers, Kim and Kelly Gilkey and Cindy WilL iams.
