Rappahannock Water and Sewer Authority Chairman Col. M. F. Biddle received a report last week from the Mackie Engineering Company of Charlottesville detailing the costs involved in two alternative sewage disposal systems proposed for Sperryville.
'Hie least expensive alternative and an innovative approach to the sewage disposal problems of small communities without a large tax base is a town septic field that would involve monthly user fees of approximately $3.50. The other alternative is a standard sewage treatment plant with estimated monthly user fees of $10.60. Neither system would allow for significant growth.
