“Shaping The Future for American Families” was the theme of the Family Resources Conference held on the Virginia Tech Campus in Blacksburg last week. Attending the conference from Rappahannock County were Mrs. Corinne DelGrosso, Chairman of Extension Homemakers Clubs in Rappahannock and Mrs. Stewart Cooley, Vice Chairman of the local clubs and Mrs. Llewellyn S. Allison, Extension Agent.
Tuesday, the homemakers attended the first general session and a talk on “Experience is the Worst Teacher” by Dr. Joseph W. Maxwell, Associate Professor V. P.I and SU.
During the three day conference those attending participated in workshops on “1976-2076: Strengthening The Family is Our Responsibility”; “Health: It’s Priceless, Don’t Lose It!”; Family Management 1976-1986”; “The Human Energy Crisis - Food”; “Living The Rest of Your Life” and “Today’s Stress, Tomorrow’s Hope and Despair.”
