Ernest M. James, manager of the Virginia Employment Commission’s Harrisonburg office, has been promoted to field supervisor for the VEC’s valley area, effective August 1, Robert L. Masden, VEC commissioner has announced. James succeeds Henry C. Cale, who retires July 31 after 19 years with the VEC.
James, who joined the VEC in March 1975, will have overall responsibility for VEC offices in Charlottesville, Front Royal, Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Winchester and Culpeper.
