-SINCE 1863"The world of humanity is possessed of two wings—the male and the female. So long as these two wings are not equivalent in strength, the bird will not fly. Until womankind reaches the same degree as man, until she enjoys the same arena of activity, extraordinary attainment for humanity will not be realized." (From the Baha'i Writings) God has sent messengers such as Moses, Buddha, Christ, Muhammad and Baha'ullah progressively at different times to reveal to humankind social and spiritual teachings. The , social teachings have changed according to the needs at that particular time, such as the laws governing the status of women, while the spiritual teachings have remained changeless; for there is only one God to worship 'and know.
The latest revelation of God proclaimed in 1863 that the oneness of God, the unity of religion and humankind, and the equality of rights for men and women underlie the purpose of humanity for now and the next 1000 years. Baha'ullah, the latest Prophet of God, made this proclamation.
These truths are here for us to investigate so that we may each grow spiritually and advance as a society on this planet. Can we not agree that the time has arrived to live these truths?
