Did you know or care that at the Board of Supervisors meeting last Thursday there was a public hearing? You say “yes” that you knew and you do care, but you couldn’t come and be heard or hear what goes on because you were working? Do you know that at the June meeting when the public hearing date (on the proposed Goode subdivision) was set that the Supervisors were asked (by Dr. Krebser, if it matters) to hold the hearing at night? Four members of the Board voted to have the hearing at 10 a.m. Does that sound like your elected representative cares what you think about the decisions which affect you? Did you elect a Supervisor to make decisions without haying the benefit of your opinion? Is your Supervisor supposed to make decisions for himself or represent you and the other people of his district?
At almost every meeting, the Board of Supervisors is faced with a decision which will make a difference to you and Rappahannock County. Can we rely only on news covereage to tell us what was done without stating what we want done? After all, we are the public the Supervisors are elected to serve.
