A small—and probably futile—gesture by the Rappahannock Supervisors protesting against creeping bureaucracy went unnoticed by the crowd who attended last Thursday’s meeting for a public hearing on C. L. Goode’s subdivision rezoning.
Late in the regularly scheduled Board meeting, after the courtroom had emptied, a Litter Control Plan to be administered by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission and funded with federal money came up for approval. PD 9 Director John Capelle reported that his staff had been asked by the State Department of Conservation to undertake supplying technical assistance on litter ordinance updates, help with educational programs and aid in formulating an areawide solid waste plan for the Planning District.
