In a move apparently decided upon in an earlier executive session, the Rappahannock Supervisors voted at Thursday’s Board meeting to issue a building permit to the Ski Corporation for construction of a snowless Alpine slide.
At the same time, the Supervisors sent ‘‘clarifying amendments to the Rappahannock Zoning Ordinance,” proposed by Commonwealth Attorney George Davis and the Ski Corporation, along to the Planning Commission for action.
The amendments would change the designation of the county’s current conservation district to “conservationrecreation district” and would allow “outdoor recreation, including, but not limited to skiing, swimming pools, tennis courts and gravity slides” as uses allowed by right under the new designation.
The amendments would allow those same uses by right in a business district.
Special Uae Permits
In his list of proposals, Davis also included changes in the ordinance section pertaining to the issuance of special use permits. The revisions stipulate that the Board of Zoning Appeals must hold an on-site inspection and hearing prior to granting a permit application.
