Participation of Rappahannock 4-H members in the Culpeper Farm Show was good and many of them took A>ne or more ribbons in various classes.
Cindy Williams was awarded a red for her shirt and a white for an embroidered toaster cover; Sandy Wines received a red for her school dress and a white on a needlepoint picture; Kelly Gilkey got a blue for a stained glass picture and a blue for a wall hanging.

LTC John A. Shanahan (USA-ret) and Mrs. Shanahan were hosts at a family reunion Aug. 5 and 6 at their home, Scotia Farm, near Amissville.
The guest of honor was Mrs. Freda Shanahan Bryan of San Jose, CA.
Others on hand were Mrs. Elizabeth Shanahan Wilson and son Tom of Neodesha, KA, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Shanahan and daughters Teresa and Deanna of Richardson, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sherman and sons Barry and Fred of Lawrence, KA, LT (jg) Tom Sherman, USN, Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Gleason and sons David, Jeffrey and Bill of Golden, CO, and Capt. William Ore, USN, Sterling.
The blue grass music group, The Southern Cause of Alexandria, played for the Shanahans Sunday.
