Navy Seaman Recruit Ronald L. Nicholson, son of James O. and Matilda F. Nicholson of Washington, has completed recruit training at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, 111.

During the eight-week training cycle, he studied general military subjects designed to prepare him for further academic and on-thejob training in one of the Navy’s 85 basic occupational fields.

Included in his studies were seamanship, close-order drill. Naval history and first aid. Personnel who complete this course of instruction are eligible for three hours of college credit inphysical education and hygiene.

A 1976 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, he joined the Navy in April 1978.
