Rappahannock elementary school will have a reading lab program that extends down to first grade if federal representatives approve the concept. At Tuesday’s School Board meeting, the Board members authorized Superintendent William Bloomer to continue negotiations with Alpha Smith, regional director for federally funded Title I programs, on purchasing a mobile unit to house a new primary reading lab.
In reporting to the School Board, Dr. Bloomer recalled that he's been directed last spring to put extra emphasis on the elementary reading
