News executive Arthur Arundel announces formation of a new communications company, based on the "new directions" in newspaper and broadcast lournalism.
Arundel, who pioneered the now nationally successful all news broadcasting in l%2 at Washington radio stations WAVA. recently sold that company.
The new company. ArCom, "ill operate a number of area newspapers now owned by Arundel and move into some ot the new directions and 'pportunities in the newspaper field, broadcast lournalism and cable television.
Arundel began his news career with CBS News after serving with the US. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. ArCom will be based in the International Telephone and Telegraph Building in Washington.
