Slater Joins

Marshall Bank

George N. (Nick) Slater, a native of Upperville. recently joined the staff of Marshall National Bank as a vice president and trust officer.

Slater attended Hill School, Middleburg, graduated from Episcopal High School. Alexandria, and received his BA degree from the University of Virginia where he was president of Phi Psi Fraternity.

After graduation from college, he entered the Naval Reserve Officers Training School at Newport. Rl, and was commissioned an ensign. He was later promoted to lieutenant in the naval service.

He joined the trust department of United Virginia Bank-State Planters. Richmond, in 1%8 where he has since made his home. He is a former member of the Deep Run Hunt Gub and Brianwood Racquet Club of Richmond.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Slater of West View. Upperville. His wife is the former Mildred (Bucky) Thornton Fletcher, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James William Fletcher of Thornton Hill. Sperryville.

Mrs. Slater, an attorney, will continue the practice of law with offices in Fauquier County.

Slater will head the Marshall bank's trust department.
