Mrs. Paul Miller of Flint Hill has been reappointed as the American Heart Association's Memorial Gift Chairman for Rappahannock County. The reappointment marks the 26th year that Mrs. Miller has served as Memorial Gift Chairman.
Last year, $128.24 was received in the county from memorial contributions. This year the Heart Association's memorial program will have a new theme. "A Time To Remember." The program encourages gifts for any occasion—get well, birthday, anniversary or death.
For the first time, scrolls listing all contributors will be sent to the honored person when more than one individual makes a contribution. The scrolls can be used on special occasions like birthdays, weddings and graduations as well as for the traditional memorializing of the deceased.
The American Heart Association uses the money received from the contributions to support the programs of research.
