Suggestions from the Rappahannock County Education Association on revisions to teacher evaluation procedures were rejected out of hand by the county School Board at a meeting held November 21.
Noting that the Education Association had "input” through membership on elementary and high school committees that have been reviewing evaluation criteria, chairman Beverly Massie stated that superintendent William Bloomer had requested the School Board not to look favorably on the RCEA report. She added that Dr. Bloomer’s opinion carried “great weight” with the Board.
Mrs. Massie’s remarks came after elementary teacher Lynne Baines read a list of RCEA proposals on teacher evaluation including requests that:
1. teachers be informed in writing within two weeks of an informal evaluation regarding any required corrections.
