In addition to the standard posters of rock groups and the ubiguitous Farrah Fawcett Majors, Aaron’s room is decorated with trophy fish citations for sunfish and rock bass from Virginia Wildlife and a “Master Angler’’ certificate from Mepps, a major manufacturer and distributor of lures and other fishing equipment.
The Virginia Wildlife awards cite Aaron’s “outstanding angling achievement” while the Mepps certificate notes that his catches of a one pound bluegill, one pound sunfish, one pound perch and three pound large mouth bass demonstrate Aaron’s “versatility as an all around fisherman.”
A “Proficiency Award", also from Mepps, hangs over the bed in Aaron's room. “I've been fishing so good that they sent it to me,” he explained. “I got two free lures from all this too,” he added. Aaron has developed his expertise in a relatively short time. Before the Schumakers moved full-time to the county, they spent weekends at their cabin outside of Flint Hill.
