Incorporated on November 17, the Rappahannock Chapter of the lzaac Walton League of America has formally adopted just one project—a suit against the county Supervisors that seeks to overturn recently enacted amendments to the Rappahannock Zoning Ordinance.
The group with its approximately 22 family memberships has had one general meeting and one board meeting. Officers of the county’s newest organization are president Bob Dennis of Flint Hill, vice-president Barbara Lain of Woodville and secretarytreasurer Werner Krebser of Huntly.
The lzaac Walton League, an activist environmental group, rs a national organization established in 1922. It is strongest in rural and small town areas where local chapter run their own affairs with a high degree of autonomy.
The Rappahannock Chapter’s primary objectives are to conserve, maintain, protect and restore the county's natural resources and to promote public education activities on environmental and conservation issues.
In accordance with this objective, the group is interested in adopting a stream or river in the county under the lzaac Walton League’s national program to encourage preservation of water
