“Basically, this section is more important to the goals than any other portion of the plan,” Capelle replied. He indicated that the type of information included in the background section is critical for socio-economic planning. “A goal of an economic nature might be to increase employment in the agricultural industry,” he said.
“As a social goal, take the education thing. I don’t want to jump into the school board’s territory but you might want to include a goal that the school board may have to work to implement,” Capelle continued.
“Is that a general function of the planning commission—to project educational goals?” asked Fannon.
