Mrs. Margaret “Granny” Butler celebrated her 100th birthday Thursday with family and friends at Oak Springs of Warrenton Comprehensive Care Facility.
Mrs. Butler’s mother herself lived to observe her 104th birthday.
“I think Oak Springs should be commended for the care of my grandmother,” said grandson Edward Butler of Warrenton. “They are extremely good to her here.”
Granny Butler has 18 grandchildren and “many” great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Butler’s two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins of Fairfax and Mrs. Virginia Jenkins of Woodville, were ill and unable to attend the birthday party.
Mrs. Butler is a native of Rappahannock County. Her husband was the late William A. Butler. Their third child, a son, was the late Willie Butler.
