Meets Current Needs
Bloomer replied that proposals for expansion at the high school would take care of current needs only. The same applies to the elementary school, he said, with the exception of a projected need for a selfcontained learning disabilities classroom.
Paul Nichols, chairman of the Capital Outlay Committee, formally submitted McClintock’s schematic drawings to the board for acceptance “and approval of the rate at which (expansion) should occur” giving high priority to the needs at the high school. His action came with unanimous support from the capital outlay committee.
Board chairman Beverly Massie asked for a recommendation for long-range capital outlay to forward tc the supervisors.
Alan Stokes proposed thal a study of the sanitary facilities be completed before any decision is made or capital outlay projects at the high school.
“The State Water Contro Board (SWCB) says ‘tell us what you’re planning tc build, how many bathroom: (the facility will have), hove many gallons (of waste water! will be flowing through the system and then we’ll tell you what you have to do,’ Bloomer repeated. The SWCB “reacts father than acts. Their job is to approve and modify plans rather than draw plans,” he said. Mrs. Massie agreed that the high school had top priority in any capital outlay
