The Fauquier Bar Association, by unanimous vote Monday afternoon, recommended to the General Assembly that John Alexander of Catlett be appointed to succeed General District Court Judge William Wi Carson Jr. who plans to retire next month.
Alexander, 61, formerly has served as a substitute judge in General District Court here, part of the 20th Judicial Circuit which serves Fauquier, Loudoun and Rappahannock counties.
Alexander’s father the late J. R. H. Alexander was Circuit Court Judge for many years.
