Involved with what! We know of only one isolated incident that oeeured last year involving two students and one marijuana cigarette. There have been no other elementary students brought before the school board on drug violations. And if it isn't from students caught with either alcohol or drugs, how do the board members know that “even the Elementan School is now becoming involved”? The memorandum goes on to assure parents that they do not have to sign the questionnaires but regardless of whether they add their names or not, the responses will all be burned by the chairman once the results have been tabulated.
Why burn anonymous written answers from parents when the kids are going to be asked to respond to the identical questions by a show of hands in their homerooms at school! If the questions are so incriminating, students should also be afforded the right to respond anonymously. But the questions aren’t incriminating.
