David Jacob Williams, 37, of Front Royal, died Tuesday, November 13, 1979, in Newton D. Baker Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday from the Chester Gap Baptist Mission Church, by the Rev. William Alford and the Rev. Jimmie Burke. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery at Chester Gap.
Mr. Williams was born in Rappahannock County, son of Mrs. Janie Kerns of Stephens City and the late Paul Williams. He had served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 829, Front Royal and Chester Gap Baptist Mission Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jane Williams of Front Royal; his stepfather, John Kerns Sr.; one son, David T. Williams at home; two daughters, Tammy Dawn Williams at home and Karen Michelle Williams of Front Royal; one halfbrother, John Kerns Jr. of Stephens City; three halfsisters, Della Womble, Sandra Ritenour and Beatrice Kerns, all of Stephens City, and his foster mother, Myrtle North of Chester Gap.
