RESCUE SQUAD DONATION—Ralph L. Deacon, of Fidelity American Bank NA, Culpeper, presents a $500 check to Donald B. Gore. President of the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad. The check is a memorial to the late R. E. and Virginia Wood, Rappahannock County residents who lost their lives in a flash flood near their home. Gene Wood was an active director of Fidelity American Bank since 1955. The check will go toward the purchase of a mid channel radio system which will allow the local rescue squad to communicate directly with regional hospitals during emergency calls. According to Gore, the unit will cost $6,000 of which $2,000 must be raised locally.
