A cross section of U. S. winter wheat farmers, hog producers, and cattlemen will be contacted in late November and early December in the Department of Agriculture’s annual survey to develop current estimates of planted wheat acreage, hog numbers and farrowing plans, and cattle inventory.
Clarence Dunkerley, Statistician In Charge of the Virginia Crop Reporting Service, says that participation in the survey is voluntary and that farmers’ responses to the questions are kept confidential and used only in preparing Virginia and U. S. estimates.
