Awards Prizes
At its closing event of the season the Rappahannock Farmer’s Market awarded a quilt made by Mrs. Marie Atkins of Sperryville and a country ham. Gordon Thornhill, director of the Rappahannock Farmers’ Cooperative, made the awards on the porch of the Co-op, November 17.
Ed H. Bailey of Washington received the ham and Miss Sylvia Kent of Denver, Colo, was the recipient of the patchwork quilt.
The market will reopen next spring with a broader variety of produce, homemade foods and local crafts. Persons interested in joining as vendors may contact Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Burke or Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins.
