Shanks
Funeral services for Herbert Phillip Shanks of Washington were conducted Sunday at the Canaan Baptist Church in Reva by the Rev. J. A. Holmes of Lignum. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shanks, 39, a native of Culpeper County, died Wednesday, March 25, 1981, at Alexandria Hospital. He was a miner with the Loudoun Tunnel Company.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dennis Shanks; his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Shanks Jr. of Reva; four children. Herbert Jr., Edna, Jennifer and William, all of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Tansimore of Oxon Hill. Md. and Ms. Ivadean Shanks of Reva; three brothers, John Shanks of Fairfax, Kenneth Shanks of Washington, D. C. and Harvey Shanks of Maryland.
