On April 20 Rappahannock will have their first track meet ever to be held at the high school. Track Coaches, Michael Kimble and Ann Spieker both urge as many people as possible to come and see our Rappahannock Track Team in action against Page County. Refreshments will be sold at the meet and again everyone is welcome to come.

One of the track members, Ernie Fletcher, is in our spotlight this week.
Ernie is a cool-headed, pleasant young man with a mild manner. He’s a very talented basketball player who proves that you can be aggressive without losing your head. You will find that Ernie has devoted most of his time to basketball through the 8th, 9th. 10th and 12th grades and has received a certificate for each year. In eighth grade he was Most Valuable Player and in tenth grade he received the Captain's award. This year, his last at RCHS, he has decided to run track too.
Ernie maintains a “C” average in school and says that gym was always his favorite class. He disliked biology because it took him two years to pass it. He has taken two years of electricity at Piedmont with hopes of getting a job in this area after school.
Mr. Brian Patterson and Mr. Jim Logan are at the top of Ernie's list for having had the most influence on his life. Ernie would like to thank Mr. Patterson for helping him through hard times and he is grateful for Mr. Logan’s friendship and says that he is the best basketball coach he ever had.
