At the conclusion of Monday’s meeting, supervisor J. R. Latham made a final remark on school expenditures, directed at the school board’s interpretation of the supervisors’ budget cuts as a signal to stop progress on capital outlay plans for the high school. "I don’t see any reason to forget, about capital outlay because of the cut in the budget for this year’s school operations,” he stated.

In addition, said Latham, “this internal bickering on the school board is certainly not going to help their credibility. A minority opinion is okay but they should keep it at that and ultimately go along with the majority.”
