Executive Session

For Budget?

The supervisors postponed the discussion with Eastham and Lane until after an executive session for “personnel and contracts” that lasted until afternoon. Before their retirement to closed meeting and after the arrival of superintendent Bloomer and assistant superintendent Rob McDaniel, Lane told the supervisors he wanted to change his request and now preferred discussing his budget concerns in open meeting.

Immediately following their return to open session and with no discussion, the supervisors voted to approve the proposed county budget with a tax rate of $5.30 on real estate, 40 cents below the advertised levy. (See separate story).

"You just adopted a tax rate and a budget?” Eastham inquired.

“Right,” answered Luke.
