Honorary Fire Chief Contestants Needed
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department needs girls between the ages of 13 and 19 to run for Miss Honorary Fire Chief 1985. Girls living in the areas of Chester Gap, Huntly, Lake Front Royal, First Blue Ridge Mountain Estates and surrounding areas may run. If you wish to be a contestant please contact Karen Williams at 635-4673. The Chester Gap annual carnival will be held July 17-20.
Child Care And Learning Center’s
Benefit Auction Set For Saturday
The Child Care and Learning Center’s fifth annual benefit auction will be held on Saturday, July 6 at the Sperryville Antique Market beginning at 10 a.m.
The auction will offer many exciting, useful and unique items to the highest bidder and winners will be sure to enjoy their purchases while benefitting Rappahannock County’s only non-profit, full time child care facility. There will be an advance viewing of the auction items on Friday, July 5 from 6 to 8 p.m.
July 4th Bake Sale
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will have a bake sale on the 4th of July in front of the Town Hall. The Thrift Shop will be open all day. Area residents are asked to donate baked goods and have them to the stand by 10 a.m. Hot dogs and ice tea will also be available.
Flint Hill Carnival Set
The Flint Hill annual firemen’s carnival will be held July 31 through August 3. The parade will be held on Thursday evening.
