of Veselka’s poetry forced the audience not only to listen but almost to lean into the story and to imagine itself in the picture that he was painting with dark and passionate tones. He shivered the audience.
If Veselka was dark, the Lemon Sisters were light. Their humorous tale of the plight of four waitresses, told while singing and dancing in sync, charmed the audience. It is hard not to await the return of the Lemon Sisters, alias Cathy Kiley, Jeanne Drevas, Beth Levick and Sherri Albrecht.
If we were not going to mention all the acts, we should not have mentioned any because all were worthy of being singled out, all were entertaining and contributed to a spectacular night on Gay Street.
We congratulate all the performers and extend thanks to R AAC for staging the event.
