hat she got was a life-long love of antique furniture, glassware, paintings, jewelry and collectibles. She began selling antiques at flea markets in 1979. Donna had retired after working •W years in various government positions in 1972.
"1 decided when I retired that I was going to do what I wanted and meet people,”.Donna said. “I’ve always enjoyed people, and after 33 years of looking at four walls in some office I was ready for it."
Donna and her partner did not think that they had enough merchandise to open a shop, so they continued to travel from flea market to flea market until opening their first shop in Manassas in 1982.
“We concentrated on quality merchandise. like the best glassware we could afford—Heisey. Cambridge, Hawkes, Cranberry, Duncan, Fostoria—the best affordable bone china and porcelain—Limoges, Spode, Belleek, Staffordshire.
