Students
Homes are being sought now for teenagers from 22 countries who will arrive in the United States in August as participants in the Youth for Understanding International Exchange Program. They will come to sample the life of America as real family members.
Students bring to their American families the cultural enrichment of their own countries and a sincere desire to learn about our daily life here. American families provide food, housing, guidance and companionship. Students provide their owrt spending money and clothing expense. YFU insurance covers any medical costs.
This is a family adventure, one during which a family will grow to understand another culture and learn more about its own. It is an opportunity for the family to contribute to international goodwill.

The Virginia State Police and the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation are distributing brochures about the state’s 1985 Marijuana Eradiction/Suppression Program.
The color brochure is designed to help people unfamiliar with marijuana to identify the plant. There are several close up views of the plant along with detailed written description.
State Police estimate between 50,000 and 100,000 plants are being cultivated within Virginia during the May ! to September growing season.
The public, especially farmers and landowners, is urged to call 1-800-553DOPE to report sightings. Callers are not required to identify themselves.
