Fund Raising Weekend

On July 20 and 21, the Sperryville Antique Market plans to open its doors and facilities (free of charge) to all Rappahannock County nonprofit and community organizations for a weekend of “unrestricted” fund raising, exhibits and/or demonstrations.

Blue Ridge Draft Horse And Mule Show

The fourth annual Blue Ridge Draft Horse and Mule Show will be held at Ferrum College’s Blue Ridge Farm Museum on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Events include halter classes and halter championship in the morning and performance classes in plowing, log skidding and obstacle driving in the afternoon. A grand and reserve champion working team and single working animal will be selected from the top point winners in the performance classes.

At noon there will be a buggy, cart and wagon parade and later in the afternoon there will be a parade of antique farm machinery. A tour of the Farm Museum’s reconstructed 1800 living history farm is included in the show’s admission price. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12.

Vacation Bible School Scheduled

At Family Worship Center

Vacation Bible School will be held at Family Worship Center in Washington July 15-19 from 9:30 to 12:30 each day. Area youngsters between the ages of three and 12 are urged to attend. Graduation will be held Friday, July 19 at 7 p.m.

Each day a “Willie George” video tape will be shown. Willie George is one of the leading children’s ministers in the world today according to a church spokesperson. For additional information call Rev. Robert Dunphy at 987-8505.
